Signing In Has Never Been So Easy!

Overview - New Server Test

Click-In is an application that simplifies the login process. By combining modern day internet technology with the popularity of the smarthphone, we created a three part application that can facilitate your school, business, or dormitory sign-in process.

Go

Whether you're trying to sign your buddy into your dorm without having to leave the video games, or authorizing a client to enter your company's high-rise while sitting in your office chair, Click-In is the perfect application for you. We have developed a web page that is both desktop and mobile friendly, which allows you to pre-authorize guests who haven't arrived yet. Once there, the guest can use our desktop application to quickly sign in.

Swipe

Click-In's desktop application reacts to the swipe of an ID card. It detects whether the ID belongs to the resident signing someone in, or the guest that was pre-authorized, and forwards them to the appropriate screen. Residents will see their pre-authorized guests ready to be signed in, and will also have the option of adding new guests if desired, then with the click of a button their sign-in process is complete. Guests that have been pre-authorized can just make a single click and proceed to their destination.

Gears

Finally, Click-In offers an administrative web based app that can eliminate sloppy sign-in books and guest sheets with state of the art internet databasing. Maintaining years worth of paperwork is no longer necessary when using Click-In's admin app. All of the sign-in information is stored in a database on a server, and with our newly designed interface you can sort and filter the sign-in results while studying trends with the app's built in analytics.

About

Matt just couldn't take it anymore. He had stood in one line too many at the entrance of University Crossings and knew there had to be a better way. In the world of smartphones, apps, and advanced internet software, there had to be a way to eliminate that miserable line that always seemed to form when people signed guests into their dorm.

At the beginning of Drexel's 2010 fall term, Matt proposed an idea called 'Click-In' to his senior project class that was designed to eliminate this problem. His project won enough class votes to be one of the 6 projects chosen out of over 30 proposed, and thus Click-In was born.

Our team is made up of five Digital Media majors in their senior year at Drexel University. Each team member has worked in some part of the web development field during their co-op, and it looks like that has made our team the perfect mix. Throw together a designer or two, a couple programmers, and some code monkeys, and you have yourself the best crew for the job. Chris, Dan, Matt, Rich, and Rob have teamed up to create Click-In, and finally put an end to the madness at the bottom of your dorm.

Team

Matt is Click-In's project leader as well as the PHP/MySQL guru. Don't be fooled by his awesome coding skills though, he has been working on way more than just the back-end of our application. Matt has supplemented in everything from design to mobile development, and has made sure that our team continues to make progress and work efficiently.

Rich is Click-In's front-end developer. He has been responsible for helping to layout the UI, slicing up photoshop documents, and creating the markup and styling for the application. He has also started working in Jquery to help add some aesthetic polish to the application and website.

Dan is another Click-In developer who has been working on both the front and back-end of the application. He has been tasked with writing a script to make the card reader functional, helping to integrate functionality through Jquery and AJAX, and building the analytics for the administrator site, all while playing heavy metal guitar riffs with his teeth.

Rob is Click-In's information architect and wrestling bodyguard. He laid out the structure of the application and helped design UI elements, but also beats up nerds who try to steal any application code.

Chris is Click-In's lead designer so when he's not cranking out bada** motorcycle ads in south philly, he's making smooth and elegant designs for Click-In. He's worked on multitudes of designs for every aspect of the application, from desktop app to the website you're looking at right now.
